“FINALS”?
On Saturday morning, July 17th, the relay teams as assigned by the Coach, along with those qualifying in individual strokes at Prelims, will swim a meet. There will be only one heat per event. If a swimmer is missing, the alternates will be called to swim.
Medals will be awarded for each race. The team with the most points receives a trophy. Plaques will also be given to the team which wins the most dual meets during the season and for the sportsmanship award.
ANYTHING ELSE? --YES! The winner of each relay race and the top two finishers in each individual race will represent the Division at the League ALL-STAR meet on Monday, July 20th. At this meet, the best swimmers from throughout the 30 teams in the League will compete. Medals will be awarded to all sixteen places. Remember that it is something special just to make it to this meet. Getting a medal for being one of the top 16 backstrokers for your age in a League that is made up of over 4,700 swimmers is really fantastic!! GOOD LUCK !!
