We are thrilled to introduce Paden Fontenot as our Head Coach! Paden swam for the Greatwood Gators from age 5 to 18 and still currently holds Open records. He swam for Lamar Consolidated all four years of high school, was a 7 time UIL state medalist. He currently holds the record for 50 free, 100 fly, and 200 medley relay at Lamar Consolidated. Paden also swam USS, FCST 2002-2005. He swam two years at Ouachita Baptist University and qualified for Division Two Nationals in 50 free and 200 freestyle relay, 2007. Paden coached Greatwood Gators Swim Team for 6 years as an Assistant Coach, and the last two summer seasons as Head Coach. Paden says he looks forward to meeting our families and coaching our kids as we get the Glenshire Gators ready for a successful summer!
We are also very excited to introduce Josh Scott as our Assistant Coach. Many of you may have met Josh before. Josh swam with Glenshire when he was very young. He swam in high school for Bellaire High School and varsity lettered all 4 years. He broke 8 records while he was there and was captain for his senior year. He played golf his sophomore year and lettered in that as well. Josh swam with the Houston Swim Club located in the Sharpstown area for 8 years. He also volunteered as a timer and a stroke judge for the Glenshire Gators on occasion. This past year he swam for a Division One college and made it to the conference team and was on three relays as a freshman and helped the team get second place overall. He is currently interested in majoring in geology with a minor in business. He and his family live in the West Side of Glenshire.
We are excited this year to have Marcus Rivera as our Assistant Coach. Marcus swam for the Meadows Marlins from ages 5-18. He swam varisty at Dulles High School for all four years. In addition to coaching the Gators, Marcus currently works at Houston Swim Club as a teacher and head lifeguard. He is also in college majoring in accounting.
