2004-2009 All Star Times and Placing
Click here to see the complete 2010 list with all the swimmers from every team
CONGRATULATIONS TO THE GATORS SWIMMING IN THE 2010 ALL STARS!
1.) Getting to All-Stars:
At prelims relay events are not included.
Only the top 6 times in individual events qualify for Finals
At Finals, only the first place relays go on to All-Stars.
Only the top 2 times in individual events qualify for All-Stars
So it is a big deal to just get to go to All-Stars.
2.) At All-Stars:
There is only one heat of relays in each age group. There is the potential of 8 relays swimming, thus 8 possible “places” to be won. (There are 8 lanes, not 6)
There are 2 heats in every individual event. (FYI – The slower heat swims first. So it’s B, then A). But medals are awarded 1st-16th place according to times. Heats are not associated with the swimmers. Seed times are the times they “seed” or order the swimmers going into a race – based on their previous times.
3.) Medaling at All-Stars:
It’s important to remember this is recreation swim team. And the times attained by the majority or our swimmers are achieved from only 30 hours of competitive swimming, on average, per year – that’s 10-11 weeks, 4 days a week, 45 min./day. However, most, if not all, of the All-Star record holders and typically the 1st and 2nd place medalists are Club swimmers (they swim all year round – often for many years.) So to come close (2-3 seconds) to those times set by the record holders/ 1st & 2nd place medalists is quite an accomplishment for a recreational swimmer having never been involved in a club league.
