SWIMMER’S EAR is an infection of the skin lining the ear canal. Bacteria that normally live on the surface of this skin can get into the body if the skin’s normal barrier is disrupted.  This can happen if the ear is wet for a long time.  Symptoms:  Itching and/or pain in the ear, sometimes with a slight clear discharge. Treatment: Put a few drops of white vinegar in each ear--and leave about 5 minutes,  twice a day,  for 3 days.  If this doesn’t work, see a doctor for antibiotics.  Swimmers should put drops  in ear after swimming. A good home remedy is a mixture  ½ white vinegar and ½ alcohol.

GREEN HAIR is caused by chlorine in the water.  A hair saving Hint from Heloise to try:  Dissolve 6 to 8 regular aspirin in a large glass of warm water, pour the solution through your hair and leave on for 10 - 15 minutes. Rinse with clear water. Also, be sure to use a white or clear-colored shampoo after this treatment, so your hair won’t absorb any color from the shampoo.  To help keep hair in its best condition, immediately after swimming, rinse it   well with tap water or shampoo and condition it as soon as possible.  Don’t go to bed with chlorine in your hair!
