PRACTICE RULES
All swimmers are expected to listen and obey all coaches’ instructions during practice.
If a swimmer anticipates being absent or has any chronic health problems, please notify the coach.
Swimmers should be ready to get in the water at the designated practice time. Please get there early to take care of hair, goggles, sunscreen, etc. Long hair must be contained in hair bands and/or a swim cap. Goggles are mandatory for swim practice. No brief bathing suits allowed.
Please write swimmer’s name on all hats, goggles, shirts, towels, chairs, coolers, etc. There is a Lost & Found box in the pool house. All unclaimed items are donated to a charity at the end of season.
No one is allowed in any pool during meets or practice times who is not scheduled to be practicing.
Parents should not attempt to communicate with the coaches during practice. This time is very valuable to the swimmers. Please leave a written note with your name and telephone number in the coaches’ notebook and they will return your call. Please do not call the coaches at home on swim team related matters. Vacation plans, absences, and concerns should be written in the coaches notebook. Any complaints should be addressed to a board member.
Baby pools, lifeguard stations, diving boards, etc. are strictly off limits.
Please do not leave your child at the pool when it is not his/her practice time.
If you will be late picking up your child, make sure that another responsible adult will be watching over them. The coaches cannot watch your children and the swimmers in the pool.
Bad Weather?
If the weather is questionable, before your child’s practice, always assume there WILL be practice as usual. However, if the weather is definitely/continually bad before your child’s practice time, then it is safe to assume that practice will be cancelled. IF weather turns bad during practice time, always assume the possibility practice could be cancelled and come to the pool to pick up your child. Do not wait until the practice time is over. Coaches will make the final determination for any cancellations.
