DAY OF THE MEET RULES

Regular scheduled practice times on the day of the meet.  No extra fun swim during the day.  Stay cool and get lots of rest.

Report to the meet pool at the designated time (4:30 p.m. for home meets and 5:00 for away meets) for warm-up.  The meet will start promptly at 5:30 p.m.

Bad Weather?
Before leaving, check your email in the event of already occurring or predicted “really bad weather” to see if the decision has been made to postpone or cancel. If there is no message, assume that the meet Will proceed. Never leave a meet when it is raining until the meet has been Officially canceled.

Each swimmer should report to their designated age group area (Gator Pits) to get their swim number and find a spot to sit.  All swimmers sit with their age group during each meet.

If a swimmer needs a ride to the meet, he/she should contact a coach or team officer to arrange a ride.  Please do not miss a meet due to lack of transportation.

It is very important for each swimmer to make every attempt to attend all meets.  It is very discouraging to the team to lose a meet due to absence of its members.  If a swimmer is unable to attend a meet, he/she should notify the coach in advance as soon as possible.

Never leave a meet before it is over without checking with the coaches. The coaches must dismiss you before you leave so that relay teams won’t be effected at the end of the meet.

All swimmers should eat a light meal before the meet (3:30 p.m.).  Keep it light, low fat & high in carbohydrates.  Some examples:  pasta, breads, potatoes (not fried),  fruits, cereals, macaroni & cheese, light sandwich or juice. Examples of foods to avoid are french fries, fried chicken, chips, ice cream, sausage, hot dogs, chili, candy, cokes & other carbonated drinks, and no red colored drinks.  It is very important to have some type of drink available to drink during the meet (water, juice, Gatorade).

No one is allowed to jump into any pool or push anyone into any pool after a meet.

Any swimmer who misbehaves at a meet will be warned first, then removed from the rest of the meet after a second offense.

Any swimmer not at ready bench for scheduled swim event  after being called for line-up may forfeit that event.

The swim coach has absolute control on where to place the swimmers in the events at the meet.

Because of the large number of people at the meets, there cannot be any horseplay, ball play, running, or playing in the smaller pools.

Swimmers may not be excused to go play at a nearby park at anytime.

SWIM HARD AND SWIM FAST!!!
